> Our new Wednesday classes and the Milonga in Bethesda
have been a blast. It will be the 4th this week and thank you very much
for your great support to make these nights successful.

Next week (June 30) famous dancer from NY Angel G. Clemente will be joining us and teaching the classes. Later on Ney Melo , Valeria Solomonoff and the other great instructors from NY will be coming to teach these FREE classes.
Intermediate dancers! this week we will talk about musicality.

Gentlemen! We would like to see you more at the classes and the milonga since cute ladies have been sitting and waiting for you there for last 3 weeks.

> At the end of July we will be getting together for a fairwell party for Murat Erdemsel.
In August Murat will be moving to NY city for good. This gathering will include his retrospective Art exhibition also. After his last exhibition in NY, this time you will see his art works at the space of Divino Lounge in Bethesda.
This will be announced with more details soon.

	Daniel BINELLI is Internationally renowned master of the bandoneon, tours extensively in concert and recital. In 1989 Daniel Binelli joined Astor Piazzolla´s New Tango Sextet, touring with them Brazil, Chile, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Holland and Switzerland before Mr. Piazzolla’s death in 1992. From 1968 to 1982, Binelli was bandoneonist and arranger at the prestigious Osvaldo Pugliese’s tango orchestra.
	Polly FERMAN is one of the world's leading promoters of the music of the Americas. She is an outstanding interpreter of the piano music of Gottschalk, Nazareth, Gershwin, Villa-Lobos, Ginastera and Piazzolla, among others. She is also the founder of Pamar (Pan American Musical Art Research, Inc.) Her incursion into the "tango world" includes her appearances as a duo of Daniel Binelli as a guest artist of Binelli's Quintet and of Tango Metrópolis Company.
	Valeria SOLOMONOFF was born and raised in Argentina, studied tango, modern dance and choreography. After twice winning first prize for her solos in Argentine Dance Festivals, she moved to New York City. Partnered Omar Vega, Junior Cervila, Cesar Coelho and presently Murat Erdemsel, Solomonoff performed for a president of Argentina at the Metropolitan Opera House. Currently she is the director of a new company, Valetango.

The night will start with the music of Binelli-Ferman Duo, then Valeria will be dancing
her solo choreography followed by a dance with Murat Erdemsel.
Then the Milonga starts with the music of Binelli-Ferman Duo's CD.

Dec. 7th, Murat will be here at the Step Ahead Studio once again to share
more great Argentine Tango Dancing with us.
"..This day will start with a workshop in the morning at 10:30am on the Basic's in Argentine Tango
followed by a workshop in the afternoon on another great Tango sequence.
I highly recommend the workshop on the Basic's for everyone as
Murat focuses strongly on the feel and lead of Argentine Tango as well as on

Tango Toes

Hope you are having a good time.

It was about a month ago, I think it was the last day of BA Tango Lounge,
a good friend of mine came near the bar to talk.
He said "...don't you see that DC Tango community gets smaller?"
I did not answer this question because did not want to admit what he meant.
After loosing couple of milongas in the city in the same month,
unavoidably many opportunities were gone, many faces disappeared.
But i feel that recently things changed again.
Musa's place Coco Cabana rocks. Cecilia's still beautiful,
Friday nights will have new events with Sharna,
Thursday practica in Baltimore is fantastic
and hold on tight,
Kathleen Golden and I will be bringing another great milonga
with classes into weekdays this month.
You'll be informed about that very very soon.

> It was fun that 2 weeks ago in Coco Cabana,
we danced to lots of Biaggi, Hugo Diaz and Pugliese.
Possibly I will be playing the music this coming Monday night again.

> Vera Kywa's Milonga in York PA was a success.
Baltimore and York met in this milonga last Saturday Night.
The next day was a great mix of people in
Murat's scheduled PA workshop in the same space.
In the milonga, Carlos and Tova danced to Hugo Diaz's music.
After Murat and Irina's dance, Carlos and Murat danced to ColorTango.
Obviously it looked funny but also entertaining.
The next day Carlos and Tova left for Boston. We'll miss them.

> Tango Classes in La Belle Epoque taught by Murat Erdemsel.
Just like last month, Murat will be teaching the classes
on Friday Night September 19th. at 8:30pm.
Join these crowded but enjoyable classes if you'll be around there.

> In NY, ValeTango (Valeria Solomonoff) with more than
10 other dancers performed on the Union Square Stage.
It was the mix of classic/experimental Tango, Modern and Latin dances
danced by young performers.
    
In the same week Valeria and Murat also performed in Broadway's Noche Tango.

The following night was another performance for them at the Spice milonga in the harbor. This open Milonga will end very soon, try to go catch the last ones with the greatest music of Richard Lipkin His page is a complete calendar for NY Milongas. check it out. I rate Richard Lipkin as the best DJ in States.

> One more thing The last Milonga in OLD STONE HOUSE was beautiful.
September 12 we enjoyed the last dances. And at the end we took a picture all together.

BA Tango Lounge will be closing it's doors this Saturday night.


It was an unexpected short notice.
Sad to say that this Saturday will be our last class in BA Tango Lounge .
And the milonga will be the last BA milonga.
We are expecting you to come over to this milonga to do the finale.
+BA Tango Lounge has hosted many milongas, many special tango events with very special musicians, orchestras, djs, instructors and performers,
from Quintango to Tito and Pancho, from Robin to Radio Argentino and from Fabian Salas to Cesar Coelho. Including Anne Sophie and my self, many local instructors have shared their ideas in this place. It's been a short but incredible history for Washington DC Argentine Tango Community.

Tango Toes

A lots of news this week.

> The New York workshop was very successful.
Carina Moeller was great. Triangulo has been
the most popular Milonga with it's Tuesday and Friday nights..
Demonstrations with Carina were pleasure.

> It's an honor to introduce Valeria Solomonoff.
Born and raised in Argentina, Valeria Solomonoff studied tango, modern dance and choreography. After twice winning first prize for her solos in Argentine Dance Festivals, she moved to New York City. In 1996 Valeria co founded the first all-woman tango ensemble, TangoMujer. With the support of two NEFA grants the group toured Europe and America.
Partnering Omar Vega, Junior Cervila, Cesar Coelho among others, Ms. Solomonoff performed for a president of Argentina at the Metropolitan Opera House, for the Connecticut Grand Opera; choreographed for shows at Town Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Symphony Space, Repertorio Espanol and for Mount Holyoke College, UMASS where she has been a Guest Artist. Currently she is the director of a new company, Valetango.

..a new partnership Valeria and Murat have been dancing/practicing for a couple of months. And they recently started to rehearse for their future demonstrations. They have been working on a new choreography. First exhibition will place for NY City Tango Summer Festival in July. They both are excited that they built a new partnership together. > Last week Sharna Fabiano called and asked;
"...hey Murat,, do you like kids?
I said "?.....yeah.."
she said "..me too.. we should dance for them.. :)" , ok
so we went to this cute elementary school in Georgetown.
There were about 40 monsters sitting seriously watching us dance.
I was amazed to see them being a great audience.
They were amazed to see Tango the first time.
Interesting that, Sharna and I agreed, that dance was one of our bests.

Soon, Carlos and Tova will be moving to Boston for Carlos's PHD at Harvard Univ. And before doing that, they wanted to bring the idea of doing a marathon for Baltimore Tangueros. Their website says,

Cesar is one of the most experienced dancers even though he is in his 20's.
He danced for 'Forever Tango', Carlos Saura's movie 'Tango'
and finally brand new show 'Swango' from New York.

As DC community, we have treated with great events and teachers this month.
Right after the Tango Marathon, Daniel Tranner was here to teach classes.

Then Nito and Elba were in town, as i heard they were in Baltimore to teach
Carlos & Tova's classes also.
